Landing Gear Concern Brings Jet Back To DFW
DALLAS (AP) - A Baltimore-bound American Airlines flight has made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
The MD-82 left DFW around 5 p.m. Monday for the Baltimore/Washington International Airport. Shortly after takeoff, the FAA says the pilot declared an emergency because of a problem with the landing gear.
The FAA says the airplane then circled over north Texas for nearly two hours to burn fuel and made a low-approach fly-by of the airport so authorities could get a look at the landing gear, which appeared normal.
The plane landed safely shortly after. It's unclear whether the 140 passengers have yet made it to BWI.
