Hail, strong winds possible with severe storms across North Texas on Thursday

CBS News Texas

The potential of strong to severe storms on Thursday has prompted a First Alert Weather Day Thursday evening into the overnight.

Some storms could be severe with large hail and damaging winds, especially in our southwest areas.

While spotty showers and storms are possible this afternoon as a cold front moves through, it is overnight that coverage expands.

The First Alert Weather Team will be with you through the overnight and on the stream as needed.

Storms will move out by sunrise Friday with lingering cloud cover into the midday hours.

Northerly winds behind the front will keep temperatures near 80 tomorrow afternoon.

A beautiful Saturday is ahead with sunny skies and temperatures back to average in the upper 80s.

A spotty shower is possible along the Red River Sunday morning, but most areas will remain dry.
