FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Issac Adams is sitting behind bars on Wednesday. Police said that he was drunk when he crashed his truck into a Fort Worth convenience store on Tuesday afternoon. The violent crash killed a mother and hurt seven other people.

The wreck happened just before 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Star Food Mart, located near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Lancaster Avenue. Investigators stated that the truck was traveling at around 80-100 mph when the suspect lost control and slammed into the convenience store.

There were eight people inside of the store when the crash took place, including mother Sylvia Zazueta. She was pinned under the vehicle and pronounced dead. The other injured individuals are still recovering in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old suspect has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Police said that, moments before the crash, Adams was involved in another collision less than half of a mile away. That incident was relatively minor, and Adams allegedly raced from the scene as the other driver tried to exchange insurance information. After that is when the crash happened.

The wreck at the Star Food Mart left significant damage to the convenience store. The front of the building was boarded up overnight and the owner is expected to begin cleaning up on Wednesday.
