Dreaming of a warm Christmas? New record highs expected in North Texas for this week

Sharp cooldown in store for North Texas after record-setting warm Christmas Day

For the third time in the last five days, DFW has hit 80° or higher. Back in December of 2017, DFW logged a total of eight days of 80-plus. This December, we'll end up with three more for a total of six, the second most ever

Expect breezy conditions on Thursday, but it'll be great outdoor weather through Saturday.

On Sunday, a powerful cold front sweeps across North Texas. The high in the 70s will be just before the winds turn to the northwest. By the end of the afternoon, we'll be in the 50s with some rain and strong winds.

We close the weather with some winter temperatures. It'll only be in the 40s on Monday with a freeze by Tuesday morning. New Year's Eve will have temperatures in the low 40s. It'll stay on the cooler side on New Year's Day with highs in the 50s, a typical temperature for the time of year.
