Record warmth hit North Texas on Friday, with a high of 86 degrees. The previous record for the day after Christmas was 83 degrees in 2008. It was the hottest December day since Dec. 3, 2005. Saturday could also beat or match the record high.

Temperatures will stay warmer than average through the weekend. In fact, Sunday may be another record-breaking day. The low is expected to be in the middle 60s and the high in the low 80s.  A few clouds will be in the sky, and winds will be from the southwest, gusting up to 25 mph at times.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a high in the upper 70s. However, conditions change late Sunday with an advancing cold front. The front may pop up a few showers and storms in the evening, and winds will be gusty.

The cold air settles into the forecast Monday. It will be a shock to the system considering there will be a 40-degree temperature difference in 72 hours. The coldest air will be felt Tuesday morning. The lows will be in the upper 20s and low 30s, but with winds from the north gusting up to 30 mph, it will feel more like the 20s.

Thankfully, temperatures climb for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Perfect weather to end 2025 and start 2026.
