Another freezing morning ahead for North Texas followed by a warm up for New Year's Eve
Monday was a cold and windy start to the workweek in North Texas, with daytime highs dropping nearly 40° from where they were yesterday.
Tuesday morning will still be chilly, as winds remain out of the north and skies continue to clear. Expect morning lows to start below freezing for much of the region to start the day on Tuesday.
By Tuesday evening, however, our southerly flow returns, which will give us a steady warm-up the rest of the week.
For New Year's Eve, expect temps in the mid-60s during the afternoon under mainly sunny skies. During the evening, just expect jacket weather.
From there, we continue to warm to near 70 for New Year's Day, and into the mid-70s by Friday.
This weekend looks good, with temps sticking above normal, and dry conditions persisting through at least the first week of the new year.
