Cleanup Underway After Train Derailment In Mansfield

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) - A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train has derailed in Mansfield.

The incident happened in the 4300 block of Britton Road, near Holland and Seeton Roads.

Officials with the Mansfield Fire Department have confirmed dozens of cars derailed, with several flipping on their side. The train had more than 130 cars and all of the rail cars were carrying coal.

The accident knocked down several power lines and caused a small fire. No injuries or fatalities are being reported.

First responders from Mansfield police and fire are on the scene. Train tracks in the area have been shutdown.
