Chicago man charged in 2023 carjacking on I-290 near Central Avenue
A Chicago man is charged in connection to a 2023 carjacking on the Eisenhower Expressway, Illinois State Police announced Saturday.
Eric D. Evans, 34, was charged with one count of vehicular hijacking.
State police said on June 4, 2023, around 5:30 a.m., troopers responded to a reported carjacking on Interstate 290 near Central Avenue.
The victim's vehicle was taken by an occupant after a fight inside the vehicle and with the assistance of two other accomplices.
Investigation by agents later identified one of the suspects as Evans, who was already in custody on unrelated charges
Evans is currently in the custody of the Cook County Department of Corrections.
