3 businesses burglarized overnight in Portage Park neighborhood, police say

Police issued business alert for burglaries in Chicago's Portage Park neighborhood

Chicago police are investigating after three businesses were burglarized on the city's Northwest Side early Thursday morning.

It happened in the 4600 block of West Belmont Avenue in the Portage Park neighborhood.

Police said three unknown people broke the front glass of the businesses, went inside, and removed cash from the register before leaving the scene. 

The burglaries happened at the China Chef, La Michoacan Prime, and New Waves Laundromat. According to police, the burglaries happened within five minutes, between 3:05 a.m. and 3:10 a.m.

The owner of the Michoacan said nothing was taken from their shop. 

Police did not provide a description of the suspects.
