Could gene therapy hold key in AIDS fight?
An experimental treatment for HIV at the University of Pennsylvania is using gene therapy to help prevent the virus from developing into AIDS. Doctors extracted immune cells from trial patients, disabled the gene for the molecule that HIV binds to, then re-injected the cells into patients. Dr. Jon LaPook reports.
