From around the world, fans of Michael Jackson continued to keep vigil June 10, 2005, outside the Santa Barbara County courthouse in Santa Maria, Calif. Here is a contingent from France.
Japanese supporters were also on hand.
And here are a couple of Texans.
Of course, reporters remained on duty June 10, too.
And, as always, some fans preferred not to be photographed.
As the vigil continued June 8, 2005, symbols of hope and support were on prominent display, including this doll.
Behind almost every doll, there is an owner. In this case, she's also a dedicated Jackson fan.
But for every dedicated Jackson fan, there might be another even more so.
Here's a Jackson lookalike who joined the crowd outside the courthouse June 8.
A likeness of Jackson flutters in the breeze.
Sometimes, support comes in pairs.
And there are times, as shown here, that it comes in triplicate.
The most loyal of Michael Jackson's fans continued to keep vigil outside the Santa Barbara County Courthouse in Santa Maria, Calif., June 7, 2005. Jurors continued to deliberate.
Like their idol, many fans used umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun...
...and also from the lenses of the media.
As fans rested, the jury was meeting daily from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with three 10-minute breaks.
Sign maintenance and socializing were among the activities outside the courthouse. Jackson himself was reportedly waiting it out at his Neverland ranch.
There were about 100 fans outside the gates of the courthouse June 7, about half as many as there were June 6, when the singer's father made an unexpected appearance and was mobbed by cameras. The only famous face to visit the courthouse June 7 was the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who said the pop star was optimistic as he awaited the jury's decision.
Jackson's supporters include children as well as adults who grew up with his music.
With all their singing, chanting, and praying, Jackson's supporters seem to have one basic message for the embattled entertainer, the one that was boldly printed on one woman's sign.
