The Fancy Food Show, held June 27 through 29 in New York City, welcomed 2,500 exhibitors from 81 countries showing off a variety of products, from olives to chocolate. CBSNews.com's Gina Pace went to the show and picked out some of the newest and most interesting things to eat.

Is your salt just too plain? Check out Bacon Salt - which comes in regular, hickory, peppered and low sodium varieties - and live J & D's Foods' motto that "everything should taste like bacon."

One of the products in the Germany pavilion was real egg shells that were brightly painted filled with chocolate. To eat, stick in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to harden, and then crack open. Gut Springenheide also imports sterilized hollow egg shells for restaurant chefs to use as a way to present dishes.

To make a cup of hot chocolate, stir an Eclat hot chocolate stick, which come in flavors like salted caramel and hazelnut, into a cup of hot milk for one minute.

The Republic of Tea introduced Raw Green Bush Tea, which is the first green, unoxidized version of South African Rooibos, or red tea, on the U.S. market. The tea, which comes in a variety of flavors including Plantain Coconut and Mango Chili, is naturally caffeine-free and is packed with antioxidants.

Sick of bar-b-cue potato chips? Try something different - really different - with Mackie's of Scotland's Haggis & Cracked Black pepper potato chips. But even though Haggis is made from a sheep's heart, liver and lungs, the chips are surprisingly mild tasting.

Savannah Bee Company introduced 100 percent raw honeycomb, which they recommend spreading it on warm bread or serving with fruit and cheese.

A tub of pesto normally goes bad about five days after opening, but Le Grand's unique packaging keeps air out and will last for about three weeks after opening. In addition to a variety of pesto's, the Canadian company is also introducing tzatziki.

San Francisco-based 479 Popcorn is organic, and comes in unique flavors like Black Truffle + White Cheddar, Madras Curry Coconut and Cashews, and Chipotle Caramel + Almonds.

HimalaSalt's Artisan Salt Plates can be chilled in the freezer to serve sushi or cheese and fruit platters or heated on a stovetop or oven to cook vegetables and thinly sliced meats while imparting a hint of salt. To keep clean, just rinse and scrub - but don't use soap.
