French Wind Woes
Atlantic waves crash into the seawall at Ciboure, near Saint-Jean-de-Luz, southwestern France, Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. A violent storm with winds reaching nearly 90 miles per hour knocked out power to 600,000 French households, the country's electricity distribution authority said Tuesday. High winds in France also caused a major disruption to air travel throughout Europe.
