NASA successfully launched the Hubble Telescope aboard the space shuttle Discovery on April 24, 1990.
Convicted mob boss John Gotti was arrested in 1990. His trial would last two years. One of Gotti's top men, Salvatore "Sammy the Bull" Gravano, made a deal with the government and testified against his boss. Gotti was found guilty on all counts. Gotti died June 10, 2002, of throat cancer at the age of 61.
