Amelia and the animals
"My daughter and I share an affinity with the animal kingdom and we play out our fantasies and explore our eccentricities by creating fables where animals co-exist and interact as full partners in our invented world," Schwartz wrote about the project. "Photography gives us the opportunity to access our dreams."
A collection of Schwartz's photographs of Amelia were published by Aperture in 2008 and a second book is expected in fall 2014. A selection of the work is currently on view at THE FENCE, an outdoor photographic installation in Brooklyn, N.Y.
