A poetic look at Cuba
"Boy hanging upside down," Trinidad, Cuba, 2005
Photographer Ernesto Bazan, who spent 14 years living in and photographing Cuba, presents a poetic view of everyday Cuban life in his work. He switches from reportage, where he interacts with a stranger for just a few seconds, to more intimate portraits of the people close to him.
"For many years I had strongly desired Cuba as you long for a woman that you meet once and are unable to get off your mind," Bazan writes about his work. "I'm almost certain to have lived there in another life."
Bazan has previously published two books of his photographs from Cuba and is in the process of publishing a third, titled "Isla." Learn more about the project on his Kickstarter page.
