The long-awaited civil ceremony, which took place on July 1, 2011, transformed the one-time Olympic swimmer into the Princess of Monaco. Charlene succeeds Hollywood beauty Grace Kelly, who wed Albert's father Prince Rainier III in 1956 and died in a car accident nearly three decades ago.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and NBA player Kris Humphries got married on Aug. 20, 2011, in a lavish ceremony that aired on E!. Just 72 days after her made-for-TV fairy tale wedding, Kardashian filed for divorce. She defended her decision in a blog post, explaining, "First and foremost, I married for love. I can't believe I even have to defend this. I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!"
Paul McCartney and American heiress Nancy Shevell married on Oct. 9, 2011, exchanging vows in an afternoon civil ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London. Shevell, 51, wore a long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress with a flower in her hair, and McCartney, 69, wore a navy suit, both by his daughter Stella McCartney. Rocker Gene Simmons and his longtime girlfriend, actress Shannon Tweed, finally tied the knot in 2011. About 400 guests attended the evening ceremony on Oct. 1, 2011, outside a Beverly Hills hotel, according to People. Among the guests were Simmons' fellow KISS members, Hugh Hefner and Bill Maher. Simmons and Tweed had been dating for 28 years before getting engaged in August. They have two children together.
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo became husband and wife in 2011. The couple tied the knot on July 18, 2011, in a surprise ceremony at a tropical island in front of 35 friends and family, People reports. "For us, this is just a stepping stone to do what we ultimately want and that's to start a family together," Minnillo told the magazine. The couple, who got engaged last November, had cameras around to document their nuptials for a TLC special called, "Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding," which aired on July 30, 2011. It was the first marriage for Minnillo and the second for Lachey, who was previously married to Jessica Simpson.

Canadian crooner Michael Buble is now a married man. The Grammy-winning singer wed Argentine TV actress Luisana Lopilato in a civil ceremony on March 31, 2011. After tying the knot in downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina, the couple posed for a mob of fans. She wore a lilac chiffon dress with silver high heels, and Buble wore a sharp gray suit as he leaned down for a smooch. The couple later had a full ceremony with hundreds of guests.
Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz tied the knot in a secret ceremony on June 22, 2011, in New York, according to reports. They reportedly wed in front of two close friends and their respective children -- Weisz's son, Henry, and Craig's daughter, Ella.
Reese Witherspopon married agent Jim Toth on March 26, 2011. The couple, who got engaged in December 2010, wed on Witherspoon's estate in Ojai, Calif. People magazine reports that wedding guests included Witherspoon's kids (with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe), Ava and Deacon, along with and Sean Penn, Scarlett Johansson, Renee Zellweger and Robert Downey, Jr. Witherspoon was married to Phillippe from 1999 to 2008.

According to Us Magazine, the couple exchanged vows on the theater's stage, which was covered in white flowers. Grammer's 5-year-old son Jude (with ex Camille Grammer) was also spotted at the ceremony.
As of 2011, Seth Rogen was a married man. The actor wed his longtime girlfriend, writer Lauren Miller, on Oct. 1, 2011, in Sonoma, Calif. Us Weekly reports that the ceremony took place in front of guests including Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Judd Apatow and wife Leslie Mann. Rogen and Miller have been together since 2004.
Brooke Burke and David Charvet are now husband and wife. The "Dancing with the Stars" co-host and the former "Baywatch" actor tied the knot in St. Barts on Aug. 12, 2011. "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed and "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald are now husband and wife. The couple exchanged vows in front of 100 guests on Oct. 16, 2011, in Malibu, Calif. Reid and McDonald met in March. They got engaged in June after two months of dating.
Robin Williams married graphic designer Susan Schneider on Oct. 23, 2011, in California's Napa Valley. The actor met Schneider in 2009, according to The Guardian, shortly before undergoing heart surgery. Williams has three children from two previous marriages. His previous wife, Marsha, filed for divorce in 2008.
"That 70's Show" star Danny Masterson and actress Bijou Phillips married on Oct. 18, 2011, in a private ceremony at an Irish castle. Masterson's brother, actor Chris Masterson, was reportedly the best man at the wedding. The couple had dated for eight years before tying the knot.
Molly Sims said "I do" in 2011. The model, actress and jewelry designer married Hollywood producer Scott Stuber in front of close family and friends on Sept. 24, 2011, in Napa Valley, Calif. Sims and Stuber announced their engagement in May.

Jeff Probst is now a married man. The "Survivor" host married Lisa Ann Russell on Dec. 5, 2011. The couple wed in an intimate ceremony at a private residence in Los Angeles, reports People. This is the second marriage for both Russell and Probst. Russell was previously married to former "Saved by the Bell" star Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
Shania Twain married business executive Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico, on Jan. 1, 2011, less than two weeks after their engagement was made public. The couple linked up officially in 2009 after splitting with their respective spouses.
Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O'Connor tied the knot with Irish therapist Barry Herridge on Dec. 8, 2011 (her 45th birthday) while sitting in the back of pink Cadillac in Las Vegas. "I've been married before, but I've never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it's casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic," O'Connor said, according to Reuters. The couple met only a few months earlier when O'Connor solicited for a man on Twitter. This was O'Connor's fourth marriage.
Country singer Kellie Pickler married songwriter Kyle Jacobs on January 1, 2011. The couple wed at a small ceremony on a private island in the Caribbean, Pickler's label said in a statement. Pickler finished in the top six on "American Idol" in 2005.

The couple exchanged vows in front of about 40 guests, who were led to believe they'd been invited to an engagement party, according to People magazine. Rimes, 28, and Cibrian, 37, met while filming the TV movie "Northern Lights." Both were married to other people at the time. They announced their engagement in December.
NFL quarterback Tony Romo and Candice Crawford are now husband and wife. The Dallas Cowboys player married Crawford, a sports reporter and the sister of "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford, in Dallas on May 28, 2011. "It was perfect! From the ceremony in beautiful white, to a vibrant after-party and great music selected by Tony himself," a source told People magazine.
Six hundred guests reportedly attended the nuptials, including current and former Cowboys players like Troy Aikman and team owner Jerry Jones.
America Ferrera and longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams are now husband and wife. The former "Ugly Betty" star and Williams married on June 27, 2011 "in an intimate setting amongst close friends and family," her rep told People magazine. A.J. McLean is now a married man. The Backstreet Boys singer wed his girlfriend, Rochelle Karidis, on Dec. 17, 2011, in Los Angeles. McLean confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, "Thanks for all the support and a married I will be." Fellow Backstreet Boys member Howie Dorough told CBSNews.com, "It was unbelievable and crazy. I wouldn't expect anything different from A.J. Very gothic, very out there. It was lots of fun. All the guys were there. We partied. We danced our butts off.
