Woman's sex act proves workers' comp fraud

Modupe Adunni Martin CBS Sacramento

(CBS/AP) SAN MATEO, Calif. - A California woman who claimed she had an ankle injury in order to collect workers' compensation payments was "exposed," prosecutors say - when she was caught in the middle of a sexual encounter in a public park.

Authorities said 29-year-old Modupe Adunni Martin was caught on videotape throwing her crutches into a car and running in high heels,  CBS Sacramento reported.

San Mateo County prosecutors say Martin reported the injury while working as a Sequoia Union High School District janitor in 2009. She claimed she couldn't walk and needed crutches.

However, investigators said she performed a sex act on a boyfriend in the park. Doctors concluded she couldn't have done so with an injured ankle. (There's an expert on everything!)

According to CBS Sacramento, Martin pleaded no contest to fraud and was sentenced on Thursday to nine months in jail. She was also ordered to pay more than $79,000 in restitution.
