Whitney Houston would have been 50 years old today
Today, Aug. 9, 2013, would have been Whitney Houston's 50th birthday.
The singer, who died Feb. 11, 2012, at age 48, is being remembered by her family with a low-key dinner.
Houston's sister-in-law Pat Houston told Kevin Frazier of Insider.com about their plans: "We are celebrating with a private dinner at our home here in Georgia, that was one of Whitney's favorite birthday celebrations. It's a very emotional time for all of us but she would want us to celebrate with peace, love and happiness. Today, we celebrate a legacy of a matchless gift, Whitney Houston...To all of her fans, let's celebrate with divine peace, love and joy."
It was revealed recentlythat Houston's headstone reads: "I Will Always Love You," as a tribute to one of her biggest and most memorable hits.
