What Prince songs did Obama listen to before meeting the Queen?

President Obama commemorated the death of pop icon Prince the same way many other Americans did: listening to the music that made him a legend.

"I loved Prince because he put out great music and he was a great performer," the president told reporters Friday during a visit to London. "I didn't know him well - he came to perform at the White House last year and was extraordinary, and creative, and original, and full of energy. And so, it's a remarkable loss."

The president said that during his stay at Winfield House, the U.S. ambassador's official residence in London, he and his staff were able to listen to two Prince classics thanks to the ambassador's turntable.

"This morning we played 'Purple Rain' and 'Delirious' just to get warmed up before we left the house for important bilateral meetings like this," Mr. Obama said.

The president met with Queen Elizabeth II for lunch Friday, toasting to her 90th birthday, and then later met with Prime Minister David Cameron ahead of a tough United Kingdom vote on E.U. membership in June.
