Watch: 5-year-old boy heartbroken after favorite player Brent Lillibridge traded

(CBS News) After the Red Sox traded popular third baseman Kevin Youkilis for a minor league-bound pitcher and utility infielder Brent Lillibridge, the Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo had this to say: "No, the Red Sox didn't get much for Kevin Youkilis when they traded him Sunday."

Ouch. Don't tell that to this 5-year-old White Sox fan who was absolutely crestfallen about the trade. No, the kid is not a Youkilis hater; he's a Lillibridge devotee.

The video is at once heart-wrenching and head-scratching. Lillibridge is a nice role player who can play multiple positions. But the guy is a .215 hitter with 16 career home runs. One would have thought the tears would be reserved for Youkilis, a three-time All-Star, two-time world champ with 133 career home runs.

The Chicago tyke is not the only one obsessed with the power that is Brent Lillibridge. Last year someone was so impressed by the player's defense that he took the time to hack his biography on Wikipedia, declaring that, among other things, Lillibridge had been endowed with the "power of invincibility." So take heart, young White Sox fan. Your favorite player will be okay.
