ARLINGTON, Texas - Authorities in Texas have released surveillance video showing a woman being forced into a trunk at gunpoint outside a bank in Arlington, Texas with the hope that it will lead them to the man responsible.

The surveillance video, which was released Thursday by the Arlington Police Department, shows the 21-year-old victim on Wednesday, January 14, driving up to an ATM outside a Wells Fargo bank, where she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her. The victim is then seen being forced to exit her car and get into the trunk of her vehicle. The man closes the trunk before getting in the vehicle and driving away.

The suspect is then believed to have driven to additional banks, where he allegedly took money from the victim's bank account, according to police.

The victim, who only wanted to be identified as Christin, told CBS DFW the man drove around for hours before stopping in Euless, which is about 10 miles northeast of Arlington. Christin said that's when she believed the man had stepped away from the car, so she reached for an emergency latch in the trunk and was able to break out.

She ran to a nearby convenience store and called 911.

Authorities say that upon their arrival, the victim led them back to the location where she believed the vehicle had been, and the car could not be found. Her vehicle was later located nearby in Arlington.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s who is approximately 5'6" tall with a short afro hairstyle. He was seen wearing a grey hooded jacket or coat and jeans. Authorities say, based on the suspect's description, it is believed that the suspect may have been involved in an additional robbery at the same Wells Fargo bank where the woman was forced in her trunk.

Anyone with information on the man's identity or whereabouts is asked to contact Arlington Police at 817-459-5739 or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477).
