Video shows Reese Witherspoon in police custody following arrest

Video has surfaced of actress Reese Witherspoon in police custody following her arrest this past weekend for disorderly conduct.

Newly-released surveillance footage shows Witherspoon wearing handcuffs in the parking lot of the Atlanta Detention Center in Georgia.

A state trooper, possibly the same trooper who arrested her and her husband, removes the cuffs from Witherspoon's wrists before they enter the facility together.

Witherspoon was arrested after a state trooper says the actress refused to stay in her vehicle while her husband, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, was pulled over and eventually arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

According to the arrest report, Witherspoon told the trooper, "Do you know my name?" She also reportedly said, "You're about to find out who I am" and "You're about to be on national news."

The actress has since apologized over the incident in a statement.

"I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said," Witherspoon said. "It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."

Both Witherspoon and her husband were released shortly following their arrests.

Witherspoon is scheduled to appear in court on May 22. Toth's next hearing is set for May 23.
