VIDEO: Jon Alexander, Mo. liquor store clerk, pulls gun on would-be robber

(CBS/AP) MARIONVILLE, Mo. - A man who decided to commit a robbery in southwest Missouri got a surprise when he pulled a gun on a brave clerk who pulled out his own gun in return.

Jon Lewis Alexander was reportedly working at a liquor store Sunday night when a man walked into the store smoking a cigarette. When Alexander asked the man to take the cigarette back outside, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and said, "You need to give me all your money."

According to CBS affiliate KOLR, Alexander, who is a 30-year-military man and former prison guard, pulled out his own loaded gun and told the man, "you need to get out of here before I blow your head off."

In the video, Alexander is seen pointing his gun at the man's mouth and the robber quickly backs away. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Police are still looking for the suspect.

The Springfield News-Leader reports Marionville police told Alexander he was a lucky man. Alexander replied he thought the robber was even luckier.
