Video: Florida man brandishes submachine gun during alleged robbery

HIALEAH, Fla. -- Surveillance footage shows the moment a man pulled out a submachine gun during a robbery of a store in Hialeah, Fla., reports CBS Miami.

Police say Rico Antonio Davis demanded cash from a clerk at a Kwik Stop convenience store, and was given more than $350 during the early morning robbery on Friday, Sept. 25.

A witness alerted a police officer and after a three-hour-long search, Davis was found allegedly hiding in a dumpster. The weapon was also recovered, police said.

Store owner Mustafa Saleh told CBS Miami the robbery was "very traumatic. There are no words to explain it."

"He came in and was covered up and then he pulled out a machine gun," said Saleh. "The clerk was able to keep his composure and keep calm. He opened the register and said take what you want. He seemed very nervous."

Davis is being held in jail on charges of armed robbery and resisting arrest.
