"Underwear bandit" on ice in Alaska, cops say

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska State Troopers say they've caught the man suspected of stealing women's underwear in burglaries over the last three months, CBS affiliate KTVA reported.

Alaska State Troopers (AST) warned about the "underwear bandit" last week, as residents in the southern city of Kodiak returned home to find evidence of break-ins and items missing - mainly mainly women's underwear. Further investigation revealed that similar incidents had been occurring for months, according to an online AST post, the station says.

Late Monday morning, troopers responded to a report of a home invasion in progress in Kodiak. The suspect fled the scene, but state police obtained a possible ID on the burglar and a vehicle.

That led to the arrest of 18-year-old Ryan Cornelio...aka the "Underwear Bandit."

State police say that over the past three months, Cornelio broke into seven homes in the Kodiak area and tried to enter three more.
