Toshiba Throws In The HD-DVD Towel
Another short posting as I spent today putting together a segment for tonight's Evening News with Katie Couric (Harry Smith is filling in). The story looks at what Toshiba's official withdrawal from the high-def DVD format "war" means for consumers. It's been raging for more than two years and now there's only one choice for people to make: Can I afford it? Of course, it may be just a matter of time before most people turn to cable or the Internet to download their Hollywood fare, meaning even Blu-Ray may have a relatively short shelf life.
