Thirsty vs. Stupid: Did Tasha Lee Cantrell Really Drink a Cold Beer In The Back of a Police Cruiser?

Tasha Lee Cantrell (Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office)

NEW YORK (CBS) Seems nothing can stop Tasha Lee Cantrell from popping open a nice cold beer. Not even getting stranded after a friend is hauled away for DUI. Not even if she's in the middle of hitching a ride home with the cops -- who say the thirsty 19-year-old didn't hesitate to drink from a can of Steel Reserve right there in the police car.

The Smoking Gun reports Cantrell, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., was riding in her friend's car Monday when the driver was pulled over and arrested. As the tow truck came, Cantrell asked Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Mitchell Landis for a ride home.

The Smoking Gun says as Landis was driving her home he heard her open a can. After stopping the car, he realized Cantrell had popped open the brew even as she was being chauffeured home.

Time for a little detour.

Instead of heading home, Cantrell was taken to the sheriff's office where she was booked on a misdemeanor charge of underage drinking, although she appeared to still be having a good time. But a few hours later... not so much.

A mug shot is worth a thousand words.
