(CBS/AP) - Prince William and Kate Middleton will be able to let loose at their wedding reception tonight; grandma won't be watching.

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, won't be attending the evening dinner dance for 300 close friends, and will instead depart for a private weekend, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

This allows Prince Harry to make his best man's speech away from his grandparents' ears.

The Queen, who wore a pale-yellow Angela Kelly ensemble for the ceremony, will also miss out on Michael Middleton's father-of-the-bride address.

The evening black tie bash will be hosted by Prince Charles and will be held at Buckingham Palace.

British singer Ellie Goulding is reportedly going to perform.

And there are rumors that Harry has planned a breakfast for those who dance the night away.
