"The Dark Knight Rises" poster unveiled

(CBS) Warner Brothers has released the teaser poster for next summer's much-anticipated followup to "The Dark Knight."

"The Dark Knight Rises," directed by Christopher Nolan, once again stars Christian Bale as caped crusader Batman. Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine also reprise their roles from the earlier film.

Joining the gang in Gotham this time are Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Matthew Modine, and a trio of actors from Nolan's previous film, "Inception": Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and Marion Cotillard.

Variety also reported that Liam Neeson, who played the villainous Ra's al Ghul in Nolan's reboot "Batman Begins," will return for "The Dark Knight Rises."

Release date is scheduled for July 20, 2012.
