Texas College Stabbing (VIDEO): Suspect taken into custody

(CBS) HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - CBS affiliate KHOU has released a video of the male suspect arrested in Tuesday's stabbing incident on the Cy Fair campus of Lone Star College in the Houston area.

A white male suspect, who is approximately 21 years of age and currently enrolled at Lone Star College, is in police custody after 14 people were injured in a stabbing incident, Sheriff Adrian Garcia of the Harris County Sheriff's Office said in a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect's name has not been released.

According to Garcia, police received a call at 11:12 a.m. reporting a white male stabbing people. Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after.

Out of the 14 people injured, two refused treatment, two are listed in critical condition and four are listed in fair condition, Garcia confirmed. He said they sustained various injuries.

The victims were transported to North Cypress Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment. According to police, four victims were taken by Life Flight helicopters and eight were transported via ground transportation.

Police say the incident remains under active investigation and buildings are still being searched.

Authorities have not confirmed exactly what type of weapon was used but they did confirm that no firearms were recovered at the scene.

Rand Key, the Sr. Vice Chancellor and COO of Lone Star College System said the college will be closed for the remainder of the day and will resume normal operations on Wednesday.

Police did not comment on initial reports that there may have been a second suspect.
