The verdict for Nicholas Brooks, 26, was issued on Thursday.

The 33-year-old Cachay was found Dec. 9, 2010 in an overflowing hotel room bathtub at the SoHo house.

The defendant's father was Joseph Brooks, an Oscar-winning composer who wrote "You Light up My Life."

Prosecutors said Brooks used Cachay to fund his lavish lifestyle and marijuana habit and when she allegedly threatened to end their relationship, he killed her. His lawyer argued she took too many pills and drowned accidentally.
