Papa John's shooting suspect found dead

TULSA, Okla. - A suspect wanted for killing a Tulsa woman on Sunday has since been found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said on Monday.

Police believe Joshua Silkey, 24, walked into a Papa John's restaurant and shot a female employee, Griselda Gallardo, reports KWTV, a CBS affiliate. A manhunt was soon underway for the suspect.

Police searched for the suspect's car - a tan 2008 Ford escape, according to earlier reports -- and tracked him to a nearby wooded area. Law enforcement agencies including the Tulsa Police, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Broken Arrow police and U.S. Marshals were involved in the search.

Resuming the search Monday morning, police said that they found Silkey's body after a nearby resident reported hearing a single gunshot, according to KWTV.

Authorities have not released an official motive for the apparent murder-suicide. Tulsa Police Officer Jillian Roberson told reporters that the department believed that Silkey wanted to have a relationship with Gallardo, but she rejected him.
