(CBS News) After the Academy Awards, some stars felt the only way they could let their hair down was to change out of their red-carpet gowns and into a party dress.

Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz and Emma Stone were among the few that decided to change into something a little more fun for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party at the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, Calif.

Lopez didn't make a significant change, instead she stuck with the same designer, Zuhair Murad, and the same neckline - plunging. The entertainer changed out of her cream sheer gown and put on a shimmery burgundy body-hugging gown for the party.

Diaz, who presented an award on the big night with Lopez, changed out of her cream-colored Gucci gown into a  bright orange-colored dress by Victoria Beckham for the festivities.

Stone, of the Oscar nominated film "The Help," ditched her red high-necked Giambattista Valli dress and put on a black Chanel gown that revealed a little more skin, with sheer cutouts on the skirt.

"The Descendants" star Shailene Woodley changed out of her white floor-length Valentino gown and into a short printed Proenza Schouler cocktail dress and her young "Descendants" costar, Amara Miller, followed suit. Miller swapped out her Valentino couture gown for a short playful, printed dress.

Lastly, "Modern Family's" Sarah Hyland changed out of her flowy purple Alberta Feretti gown and into a black full-skirted cocktail dress by Collette Dinnigan for Elton John's viewing party.
