The Los Angeles County Museum of Art hosted a horde of celebrities including Tom Hanks and Jennifer Aniston at its second annual Film + Art Gala, which honored artist Ed Ruscha and the late filmmaker Stanley Kubrick.

The stars of some of Kubrick's films were asked to remember the late director and Steven Spielberg, who was introduced by Tom Hanks, paid tribute to the late director, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Among the celebrities who attended the event included Annette Bening, Diane Keaton, Sean Penn, Jennifer Morrison and Drew Barrymore. Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine performed as well as actress Evan Rachel Wood.

The black-tie event raised $3.5 million for the museum, where both Ruscha and Kubrick have shows, reports THR.

The "Ed Ruscha: Standard" exhibit runs until Jan. 21, 2013 , and "Stanley Kubrick," a traveling show that started in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2004, opens Nov. 1 and ends June 30, 2013.
