Six-clawed lobster caught off of Massachusetts coast

A lobster captured off of the coast of Massachusetts has avoided the cooking pot for having a unique set of claws.

CBS Boston affiliate WBZ reports the 4-pound lobster, now named Lola, was donated to the Maine State Aquarium in West Boothbay Harbor Thursday because she has six claws. Her right side look normal, but her left has five smaller claw-like extensions.

Lola was picked up by Captain Peter Brown and lobsterman Richard Figueiredo of the Rachel Leah, off of Hyannis, Mass.

The Maine State Aquarium is home to other rare and odd-looking lobsters, including two-tone lobsters. Lola is expected to join the others when she grows accustomed to her new surroundings, WBZ reports.
