"You have to take a drink every time, and I mean every time, you hear the word 'Scorsese,'" McCarthy explained, toting a bottle of Grey Goose. "You'd be surprised how much that comes up in just casual conversation because people like to throw that thing around."

The trio was on stage to introduce their film "Bridesmaids," which was nominated for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.

While onstage they taunted the audience forcing them to participate, as they all repeated the director's name trying to figure out the proper pronunciation.

"Scorsese, like Prosecco," repeated Rudolph.

"Do you think Scorsese saw our movie?" asked Wiig.

Actor Steve Buscemi even got in on the action thanking Scorsese, who is the executive producer of "Boardwalk Empire," in his acceptance speech when he won best actor in a drama series.

Tina Fey, who presented Buscemi the award, threw back her glass of champagne at the mention "Scorsese" and audience members in the front row were seen lifing their glasses and taking a swig.
