(CBS News) MTV has taken a chance by featuring eccentric and controversial comedian Russell Brand as host of Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards.

As MTV knows from past experiences, you never know what Brand will do. He came to work at MTV dressed as Osama bin Laden the day after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and was fired. In his first stint as an MTV award show host in 2008, he offended both viewers and guests with comments about Britney Spears and then President George W. Bush and his call for the election of Barack Obama.

This year, he took aim at Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Michael Fassbender and Charlie Sheen, among others.

He called Kardashian "the Stanley Kubrick of sex tapes" and joked about taping booze and drugs to the bottom of Sheen's seat in the audience.

He also joked about his own failed marriage to singer Katy Perry, pointing out that they both appeared at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

"Tonight, I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for my next wife,'' he joked.

Take our poll on how you think Brand performed and discuss it in the comments below.
