Run Rabbit Run: Volunteers rescue dozens of rabbits along Colo. road
(CBS DENVER) COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Someone dumped and abandoned more than 60 rabbits along a road in Colorado Springs Sunday night. But thanks largely to Good Samaritans, the animals are safe, CBS Denver reports.
Volunteers raced out to scoop up the domesticated animals and rescue them from traffic.
"We were watching the news and saw that someone abandoned these rabbits on the side of the road, so we're animal lovers and we couldn't have that," one volunteer told CBS Denver.
The rabbits are now with the Humane Society and should be up for adoption soon.
