Roommate arrested, another at large in Md. man's slaying
LAUREL, Md.--Maryland police have charged two men with slaying their roommate, whose dismembered body was found in two bags in an apartment complex.
The body of 28-year-old Jacinto Perez was found Sunday morning at the Arden Pointe Apartments in Laurel. Police said Thursday that 32-year-old Santos Leonel Mejia-Yanes has been arrested and charged with first- and second-degree murder in Perez's death. He is being held without bond.
Officers also obtained a warrant for another of Perez's roommates, 34-year-old Bayron Cruz-Vargar.
CBS affiliate WUSA reports Cruz-Vargar is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and other charges. He remains at large.
Authorities said Perez was killed after the three men got into an argument at the apartment.
