Rob Kardashian didn't recognize Caitlyn Jenner

Caitlyn Jenner set a Twitter record and ignited a media storm Monday with her glamorous Vanity Fair cover, and her big reveal apparently came as a surprise to at least one member of her famous family.

Kim Kardashian spoke to Access Hollywood on Monday at the CFDA Awards in New York City, revealing that her younger brother, Rob Kardashian, didn't recognize Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) when he saw the photo.

"I've been on the phone maybe five different times today, sending the cover to all the family members. It was so funny because all the girls, we knew that Caitlyn was shooting this, but my brother [Rob] had no idea," she explained. "So, I send it on a mass text to everyone and my brother was on it and he goes, 'Kim why are you sending me this? Who is this woman and why do I care?' And I was like, 'Rob, that's Bruce! That's Caitlyn!' He was like, 'Oh my God, she's beautiful!'"

After that, Kardashian added, "[Rob] called her and they had a love fest."

Earlier Monday, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star was among those celebrating Jenner's big moment and congratulating her on social media.

"How beautiful!" she wrote, sharing the cover photo. "Be happy, be proud, live life YOUR way!"

Jenner's Vanity Fair shoot and interview appear in the magazine's July issue, which hits newsstands next week.
