Road rage reversal, as angry man becomes injured man

Authorities in Gainesville, Florida say Joseph Carl was hit by his own rolling pickup truck after he got out to confront another driver CBS affiliate WTEV

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- One angry Florida driver also became an injured driver after he got out of his pickup truck to confront another motorist, authorities in Gainesville said.

It happened Tuesday evening. The Gainesville Sun reports 48-year-old Joseph Carl had been drinking and drove into a vehicle stopped at a red light - whereupon he chose to get out of his truck and began banging on the window of the car he struck, which was being driven by a woman.

But Carl forgot to put his pickup in park before he exited.

When the frightened woman drove away as Carl approached,, there was nothing holding the pickup in place, and it rolled into the angry man.

A police report says Carl was taken to the hospital where he was treated for fractures in his hand and foot. He's charged with DUI and DUI property damage.
