Report: Jesse Jackson Jr. in plea deal talks

Democratic Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., who on Tuesday won re-election in Illinois' second district with 63 percent support, is engaged in discussions with the FBI concerning a plea deal over his alleged misuse of campaign funds, according to a report in the Chicago Sun Times.

CBS News has confirmed the FBI is investigating Jackson. The investigation is just one of the problems plaguing the congressman this year: After acknowledging last month that he is "not well," Jackson reportedly returned to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he spent four weeks during the summer being treated for bipolar depression.

According to the Sun Times, Jackson is being investigated for allegedly using campaign funds to decorate his home in Washington, D.C., as well as using those funds to buy a $40,000 Rolex watch for a female friend.

"No one has pled guilty, but plea discussions are ongoing," an unnamed source told the Sun Times.
