BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Kim Richards, who stars in the reality TV show "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," was arrested Thursday after she allegedly caused a disturbance at a hotel, reports CBS Los Angeles.

Officials say authorities were called to the Beverly Hills Hotel around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on a report of a possible fight.

Hotel security had reported that Richards, 50, was intoxicated and was causing a disturbance there, police say, according to the station.

Beverly Hills Police Lt. Lincoln Hoshino told the station responding officers observed Richards displaying "symptoms of alcohol intoxication," including "slurred speech" and "insolent behavior."

The reality TV star allegedly cursed at officers and "passively resisted arrest," Hoshino said.

According to the police lieutenant, after being transported to the police station for booking, Richards kicked an officer in the leg.

Richards was charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer and battery on a police officer, reports the station. She was released on $20,000 bail at around 10:30 a.m. Thursday and is scheduled to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on May 10.

Richards, who once worked as a child actress, stars on the Bravo reality television series "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alongside her sister, Kyle Richards. Both are aunts to celebrity personality Paris Hilton.

Kim Richards has spoken out on the television series about her trouble with alcohol addiction. ET Online reports she has been to rehab three times, including her most recent stint in January 2012.
