Rat Chomps Baby's Fingers, W. Va. Mom Charged
MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. (CBS/AP) A West Virginia mother is charged with child neglect after her baby's fingers were chewed by a rat, according to police.
Media outlets report that Marshall County sheriff's deputies arrested 23-year-old Jessica Williamson of Moundsville on Tuesday.
Deputy Kevin Cecil says the 6-month-old boy had several chewed-up fingers on his right hand.
Deputies arrested Williamson as she left a proceeding involving the state Department of Health and Human Resources. She was charged with child neglect resulting in injury.
The baby and Williamson's other children are living with other relatives.
Williamson's bond was set at $5,000.
