Rapper's Killing Self-Defense Suspect's Atty. Says
LOS ANGELES(AP) A lawyer for the Georgia man charged with killing aspiring Atlanta rapper Dolla says his client pulled the trigger in self-defense.
Los Angeles prosecutors yesterday charged 23-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry with murder and a pair of assault charges in connection with Monday's shooting in a valet parking area of the Beverly Center mall. Berry will be arraigned tomorrow.
Berry lawyer Howard R. Price says his client was acting in self-defense when he killed 21-year-old Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton, and fired at two other people. He says Berry feared for his life after he and Dolla had an altercation at an Atlanta nightclub earlier this month.
