Rapper 2 Chainz acquitted of Maryland drug charge
EASTON, Md. Rapper 2 Chainz has been acquitted of drug charges he faced after a traffic stop on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
The Star Democrat of Easton, Md., reports that a county judge found the rapper not guilty Wednesday. 2 Chainz's real name is Tauheed Epps.
The Atlanta-based rapper was headed to a college homecoming event in February when state troopers stopped the van he was traveling in. Police said they searched the van after smelling burnt marijuana and found a marijuana grinder and marijuana inside a backpack.
2 Chainz was cited for having drug paraphernalia and marijuana after he claimed the bag. The rapper's security guard testified that in a rush to leave the group's Baltimore hotel room, he packed the grinder, but he said he didn't know who owned it.
