Puerto Rican man propped up in taxi during his wake
A longtime taxi driver got a final sendoff in the vehicle he drove for a living.
According to the Associated Press, the body of Victor Perez Cardona was propped up inside his taxi during his wake in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico on Sunday.
The 73-year-old Perez Cardona died of cancer and was known in the town as "Vitín the driver." The AP reports that Perez Cardona joined the unusual tradition of wakes to honor his profession.
Last year, an 80-year-old Puerto Rican woman made international headlines when she was memorialized at her wake sitting in her favorite rocking chair and wearing her old wedding gown.
