Pippa Middleton finishes 56-mile cross-country ski race
(CBS News) Pippa Middleton completed a 56-mile cross-country skiing race on Sunday in Sweden, braving sub-zero temperatures and finishing it all in a little over seven hours, according to reports.
The sister of Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, competed in the Vasaloppet race with her brother, James, to raise money for the child hunger charity Magic Breakfast.
According to the Daily Mail, James finished 26 minutes ahead of his older sister, which Pippa described as "probably fair."
The two raced with 15,800 skiers from the village of Salen, near the Norwegian border, to the central town of Mora. Pippa finished in 412th place in the women's category.
"I must congratulate Pippa - she had a fantastic performance. What she achieved was really impressive for a first timer. She was obviously very fit and in very good shape," Per Strid, a spokesman for the Vasaloppet, one of the world's oldest cross-country races, told the Daily Mail.
