Watch Oscar Isaac throttle Jennifer Lawrence in the new "X-Men: Apocalypse" trailer

Things aren't looking too good for everyone's favorite mutants.

While the X-Men survived dual threats in the 1970s and the far future during "X-Men: Days of Future Past," their 1980s-set next adventure looks much more life-threatening -- or at least that's what the latest trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" seems to suggest.

The sneak peek features teases of returning cast members like Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence along with a much better look at new mutants played by Olivia Munn, "Game of Thrones" star Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan, plus the apocalyptic bad guy of the title played by "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" star Oscar Isaac.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" hits theaters Memorial Day weekend.
